Spencer Knight

Spencer was the newest arrival to the squad in April 2017, although he was only with the team for less than a year he has been known to the coach for a number of years as he was at many of the Pro-Academies with the other boys from the team. The team had success once again with a couple of players leaving to go onto Pro Clubs so an opportunity came along for us to bring Spencer into the squad, this was done without any hesitation as he fitted the mould of how the team play their game.
Spencer was threw in at the deep end with a busy summer and pre-season featuring in all 8 tournaments and friendly matches every other weekend, his qualities right from the start were there for everyone to see as he had a huge impact on helping the team reach 5 finals and 2 Semi Finals. Spencer was catching the eye of many scouts during this time on the field and in all honesty, it was more when he would be leaving us rather than if. His time came when Blackpool offered Spencer a 6 weeks trial where he has impressed them to the point that he has been offered a place and is now part of their 14 player Elite squad.
Spencer is a very intelligent and gifted young footballer, he can use either foot which helps him play the game at ease gliding either way past a player. He has a tenacity to win the ball and a work rate is second to none but more importantly he plays the game with a smile on his face. Spencer’s commitment to the team has been outstanding in such a small period of time with the team. As a club we are very proud of what he has achieved and he will be missed by all his team mates.
As a coach it has been a pleasure to have somebody like Spencer in the squad, his dedication to the team and attitude has been a coach’s dream. From all the boys and the coach we would like to wish Spencer all the best in the future.
Good Luck Spence
