Parkwyddn JFC wanted to thank local man, Fred Tewson for the great work he does in our village.  As you may have seen in previous posts we awarded him with a glass plaque as a simple thank you along with some kind donations from many people and friends of Parkwyddn.  Fred asked, if we would mind, rather than him using the money donated for himself, would we mind if he could donate it himself to a charity very close to his and his wife Marjorie’s heart.  Muscular Dystrophy UK.  We of course agreed and Fred did just that.

Charles from Muscular Dystrophy UK has kindly thanked us and Fred for the donations.  Please read below.  We as a club are just extremely proud to have been able to both say thank you to Fred and also help in some way towards a great charity. Again thank you to everyone from Parkwyddn, Fred and Muscular Dystrophy UK.

A Thank you from Muscular Dystrophy UK….

Good Morning Nick,

I have been given your email address by Fred Tewson after he sent in a donation to us for £150 from the efforts of his community work in keeping the area clean with litter picking and tidying up local garden areas.

I can see from the Parkwyddn JFC website that this donation came about from your recognition of Fred’s selfless work and the local community backing what he does with their generous donations.

Thank you for making this donation possible and for recognizing Fred’s hard work – it is obvious that he is truly appreciated from the comments made on your website post.

The money will be used wisely to help us in our work to fund research into treatments for muscle-wasting conditions and we hope will take us a step closer to the day when muscular dystrophy is confined to the past.

Thank you for your support.

“On behalf of everyone at Muscular Dystrophy UK, I would like to pass on our sincere thanks to Fred, everyone at Parkwyddn JFC and all in the local community who supported this initiative and made this generous donation possible.
It is through the selfless dedication of supporters such as Fred that we are able to continue our work to help people affected by muscle-wasting conditions lead as independent a life as possible, strive to improve services and fund research into treatments for these conditions.”

Thank you all for your support.
